Summary
- No registration, accounts, ads, analytics or cross-app tracking.
- Your games are stored on your device and on our server so you can keep playing.
- The detective's answers are produced by an external artificial intelligence service (Jev, by TypeSafe AI, Inc.). We only send it data if you agree in the app, and you can withdraw that permission at any time.
- You can delete your games in the app: Settings › Privacy & data › Delete my data.
Data we process
1. Anonymous installation identifier
The app creates a random identifier and keeps it in the system's secure storage (Keychain on iOS, encrypted storage on Android). It is sent with each request so that only this device can access its games. The server stores a hash of the identifier, not the identifier itself. It is not linked to your name, email or an account, but it does link the games of the same installation together.
On iOS, the Keychain may keep the identifier even if you uninstall the app; after reinstalling, the app may again access games still on the server. Uninstalling does not delete server data: use the delete option.
2. Games
The case you play, the questions and explanations you write, the answers, the hints you opened and the game status. They are stored on our server (Cloudflare Workers and D1) and on your device. Your drafts, progress and settings (language, sound, motion, text speed and screen effect) are also stored on the device.
3. Sending to the AI service (only with your permission)
When you ask, propose an explanation or request a hint, our server sends TypeSafe AI, Inc. (United States) the text you write and the context needed to judge it: the case, relevant earlier questions and answers, the ideas already credited to you and the hints you opened. We do not send your installation identifier or your IP address. Some questions are answered by local rules without calling the service.
If you do not give permission, or withdraw it, the app does not send questions or hint requests; you can still browse the cases and see their solutions. You can change it in Settings › Privacy & data.
According to its privacy policy (last updated 19 November 2025), TypeSafe does not train or fine-tune models on the input it receives and processes data in the United States. That policy does not state a specific retention period, and we have not confirmed API-specific terms. Do not write personal information in your questions.
4. Technical data and abuse prevention
Like any internet service, our provider Cloudflare receives your IP address to deliver each request. Our server derives a keyed hash of that IP (it does not store it in plain form) and keeps usage counters per installation, per IP hash and globally to limit abuse and cost. We do not intentionally log your questions or your identifier in server logs.
Purposes and legal bases
- Providing the game you request (saving and continuing games, answering): performance of the requested service (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Sending your text to the AI service: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time without affecting earlier processing.
- Security, usage limits and abuse prevention: legitimate interest in protecting the service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Recipients
- Cloudflare: server hosting, database and network, as a processor.
- TypeSafe AI, Inc.: judging questions and choosing hints, only with your permission.
We do not sell data or share it for advertising. Apple and Google distribute the app under their own policies. These providers may process data outside the European Economic Area.
Retention
| Data | Where | Period |
|---|---|---|
| Games on the server | Cloudflare D1 | Become inaccessible 7 days after creation. A periodic automatic cleanup deletes them afterwards; it may lag during backlogs or outages. You can delete them earlier in the app. |
| Database recovery history | Cloudflare D1 | Cloudflare may retain recovery history, including deleted rows, for up to 30 days depending on the plan (7 days on its free plan). These copies are not accessible from the game. |
| Usage and security counters | Cloudflare D1 | Until the end of their period (minute or day) plus two days. In-flight request reservations last about a minute. They are not removed when you delete your games. |
| Data sent to TypeSafe | TypeSafe | According to its policy; no specific period is stated. |
| Device copy of your games | Your device | Until you delete your data in the app, clear the app's data or uninstall it. Device backups may include local data depending on your settings. |
| Anonymous installation identifier | System secure storage | Kept when you delete your data in the app, so that deletion cannot be used to bypass usage limits. Removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it, except on iOS, where the Keychain may keep it across reinstalls. Related security counters expire as described under "Usage and security counters". |
Your rights
You can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and withdraw your consent. The most reliable way to delete is the in-app option, because only your device holds the identifier that links your games: without it we cannot tell which games are yours. For other requests write to ylagef.dev@gmail.com. You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish data protection authority, the AEPD, or your local authority.
Security
Communication uses HTTPS. The AI service key and each case's hidden facts are not included in the app: they stay on the server. A case's solution is sent to your device only when you solve it or ask to see it, and is then kept in its local copy. The server stores hashes of the identifier and IP, not their values.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above. The app records which version of the AI notice you accepted; if what is sent to the AI service changes materially, we will publish a new version and the app will ask for your permission again.
